Love Gretta Shop

Setting the Stage
Gretchen, the owner of Love Gretta Shop, was looking for someone who could create branding to support marketing goals for 2020. With plans to add products to her quilt shop and expand from online to stores and festivals, she would need to amplify her brand presence for digital, print, and product branding.

My Role
As the Logo Designer and Marketing Consultant, my key role was to design a logo for product branding and digital marketing in 2020.

Background / Challenge

Gretchen was looking for a new logo for her established quilt business.

Key challenges

  • Incorporating a variety of patterns in a cohesive aesthetic.

  • Limited budget and tight turnaround.

  • Logo would need to be formatted for digital marketing and printed on products.

  • Limited knowledge and experience working with designers and marketers.

Approach / Solution

Beginning with a discovery of client, product, business history and vision, I learned about what matters to Gretchen and her goals for her business. Next, I did a little research on the target audience and competitors in the area.

Finally, I brought it all together.

  • Primary and secondary logos

  • Branding elements

  • Guidance on branding best practices

  • Brand and marketing roadmap

Result

The ask was a logo, but I knew Gretchen would need a few more elements to fit the constraints of mediums and channels where she wanted to display branding. With this in mind, I decided to create a logo and use some of the logo concepts as branded elements - this would balance time and budget constraints with need. In addition, I created a guide with best practices, sizing, and color guidance on future marketing promotions and channel displays.

Logo Design

After learning about Gretchen’s quilt shop, I wanted her logo to evoke a feeling of timeless warmth, a sense of tradition, and sentimental value - just like her quilts.

The inspiration came from our discovery session and her beautiful Instagram photos where she gave her customers a peek behind the quilt-making curtains.

With buttons, pins, needles, and patches of stunning fabric to inspire - I set to work on the logo.

Logo Components

  • Classy and timeless typography

  • Quilted design elements

  • A variety of patterns to represent Gretta’s Quilts

Gretchen Haselden, Owner of Love Gretta Shop

“Tasha created a branding package for my business. We bounced a few ideas around, but I gave her creative freedom to make what she thought would look best. I was BLOWN AWAY by what I got back. She carefully chose designs that were relevant to my product and gave me the most beautiful branding in the perfect color scheme. It was truly more than I could have hoped for.”

Marketing & Product Branding

To ensure the integrity of the branding and set Gretchen up for success, I left her with guidance on how, when, and where to use the branding elements. Hi-res files to support her along the journey are vital to keep the product looking great and represented well.
